THE ANATOMY OF BALANCE SHEET

Objectives:
Introduce the process of measuring and reporting fi¬nancial position of a business entity through the Balance Sheet (Statement of Financial Position).
Explain the meanings and classi¬fication of assets (i.e. ¬xed assets and current assets).
Explain the meanings and classi¬fication of claims (i.e. equity, long term liabilities and current liabilities).
Introduce the formats, the items and the implications of Balance Sheet of Islamic fi¬nancial institutions.
Discuss emergent issues of measuring and reporting ¬financial position of Islamic ¬financial institutions.
