Membership Categories

Honorary Membership

Honorary Membership is open to individuals who fulfill the following criteria:

Muslim; and
15 years of experience in Islamic finance industry; and
Outstanding contribution in the field of Islamic finance or any relevant field deemed appropriate by ASAS’s EXCO

Fellow Membership

Fellow Membership is open to individuals who fulfill the following criteria:

Muslim; and
Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Shariah (Fiqh or Usul Fiqh) or other equivalent qualifications; and
Serves as a member of any Shariah Board or Committee, or as a Shariah officer at Islamic Financial Institution(s) or any related institutions for a minimum of 5 years; and
Has paid the registration and annual fees for the year

Ordinary Membership

Ordinary Membership is open to individuals who fulfill the following criteria:

Muslim; and
Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Shariah (Fiqh or Usul Fiqh) or other equivalent qualifications; and
Serves as a member of any Shariah Board or Committee, or as an officer at Islamic Financial Institution(s) or any related institutions for a minimum 3 years; and
Has paid the registration and annual fees for the year

Associate Membership

Associate Membership is open to individuals who fulfill the following criteria:

Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Shariah (Fiqh or Usul Fiqh) or other equivalent qualifications; and
Serves as a member of any Shariah Board or Committee, or as a officer at Islamic Financial Institution(s) or any related institutions for a minimum 1 year but not exceeding 3 years; or
Other qualifications based on consideration by ASAS’s EXCO ; and
Has paid the registration and annual fees for the year

Affiliate Membership

Affiliate Membershipis open to individuals who fulfill the following criteria:

Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in any related field; and
Is directly involved in Islamic finance or Shariah Advisory; and
Has paid the registration and annual fees for the year

*Prices are not inclusive of 6% SST

The annual subscription shall be payable to the Treasurer in advance within three months from January every year.

Membership Renewal

Membership will be automatically terminated for individuals who fail to pay annual fees without a legitimate excuse approved by the Exco for a period exceeding one (1) year, until December 31 of the subsequent year.

You will receive an invoice for your renewal fee and can securely renew immediately using our preferred payment methods (via online or cheque).
