Exciting Opportunity: Broader Professional Insights Trip with Islamic Financial Institutions in Pakistan

In line with Malaysia’s rapid economic development and modern advancements, it is essential for the Islamic finance industry’s expertise to evolve. To navigate this growth, especially in Islamic finance, ASAS is committed to upholding professionalism among Shariah Officers and esteemed officers in Banks, Takaful, and the Islamic capital market.

To this end, ASAS is organizing a landmark visit to key Islamic financial institutions in Karachi, Pakistan, from 12nd to 18th April 2025. This 7-day, 6-night trip will include a visit to the State Bank of Pakistan and provide invaluable exposure to international practices and contracts.

This initiative aligns with the Financial Sector Blueprint 2022-2026 by Bank Negara Malaysia, which emphasizes the use of diverse Shariah contracts to enable value-based finance.

As stated by Bank Negara Malaysia, “Another desired outcome is for financial institutions to use more diverse Shariah contracts, thereby enabling value-based finance to serve a wide range of economic and social needs. This may call for a reconsideration of the use of Tawarruq, which is presently a dominant Shariah contract for Islamic finance products in Malaysia’s Islamic finance landscape.”
